HANNAH
By Sharon Blalack
Since I brought Hannah home I have held her up in front of the mirror and I
would stick out my tongue and roll it together. Hannah would watch me do
this. Soon she was mimicking me and rolling her tongue too. Here is a
photo to show everyone how smart she is.
When I was younger and bearing children, I read every book available on
child care. One such book by a pediatrician mentioned that after birth an
infant will mimic nursing motions with their tongue. They do this tongue
movement to humans regardless of if the person is the child's mother. So
this
activity is quite normal and must be comforting to the child and indeed, the
pigchild.
I have also taught Hannah to sit up on her bum to receive a treat. She's
such a blessing. She doesn't know a stranger. I take her out for
socialization and she loves the attention. When being petted by a newly
introduced person, Hannah will stretch out her body in hopes that they will
continue. Everyone thinks she is a beauty with a great little personality
and easily trained. I just can't stop bragging on my little Hannah!
At one-year old, Hannah only weighs 34 lbs. Isn't she cute in her birthday
hat! Hannah has the largest eyes, which to me is a wonderful aspect. She
seems to talk with her eyes. The genes she inherited seem to be very
compact, short, but sturdy legs, and very large eyes. Sammy, and Kiayla
produce gorgeous babies. Nancy, I will always appreciate you, for letting
me share in the joy of
having Hannah. |
